Formaldehyde-free bhave keratin at our Redfern salon, close to Surry Hills and the Sydney CBD. Less frizz, quicker mornings, hair that still behaves like hair. From $360.
A keratin treatment is not a permanent straightener, and it will not turn your hair into someone else's. It smooths the cuticle, seals it with heat, and takes the fight out of frizz. Curl loosens, blow-drying gets faster, humidity stops running your week. Your hair still moves. It just stops arguing.
bhave is an Australian system, formaldehyde-free, and the reason we were willing to put smoothing on the menu at all. No streaming eyes, no chemical fog hanging around the salon, no hedging when someone asks what is in it. It sits alongside Mr. Smith, O&M and K18 on our shelf, and it earns the spot.
Mostly marketing. BKT stands for Brazilian keratin treatment and is the generic name for the whole category. Brazilian Blowout is a specific American brand, and it is not the one we use. bhave sits in the same family and does the same job, Australian and without the formaldehyde. If you have had a Brazilian keratin treatment before and liked what it did, this is the same idea.
Up to five months, depending on your hair type and how you look after it. It fades out gradually rather than dropping off a cliff, so there is no hard line where it obviously ends and you are suddenly back where you started.
Straight out of the chair it looks flat and poker straight. That is the treatment setting, not the finished result. Leave it alone for the first two days, then wash it out with bhave's chloride-free products. What you see after that first wash is what you have got for the next few months, which is why the aftercare is worth taking seriously.
From $360, and the range is real: thickness and length change how much product and time the treatment takes. Set aside two hours forty-five minutes. We confirm your price at consultation before anything starts, the same way we do with colour. If you are booking colour as well, say so when you book and we will plan the order of the two.
We are at 15 Woodburn Street, Redfern, a short walk from Redfern station, with free street parking nearby.
